January Second

Its officially the second week of January and boy do I have a list of big news. (At least as far as I’m concerned).

Photo Shoots:

Yoon Si Yoon oppa gets all dressed and dapper for a party.

Son Ho Jun who was my absolute bias in Answer Me 1994 is a complete Guy Candy with his lonely and longing looks.

Jung Yoo Mi screams perfection in Sure photo shoot.

Ji Chang Wook screams I’m sophisticated in his Marie Claire photo shoot.

JYJ is coming out with a special edition of “The JYJ”.

As for dramas:

The drama Full Sun is well under way with new still cuts being shown just about every week.

Jang Geun Suk aka the Prince of Asia has released a surprise ost for his drama Pretty Man

Kim Hyun Soo is being portrayed as Superman in new posters of his drama My Lover From Another Star and has officially come out with another top charting ost.

The Taiwanese drama Prince of Lan Ling is officially available on Dramafever.

And finally I am becoming more and more excited about Choi Jin Hyuk and Song Ji Hyo’s new drama Emergency Couple!!!!!

Movie Specials:

The Suspect. Seriously, who is as excited as I am for Gong Yoo’s return. And he sure is doing it big with his new movie The Suspect which will also be showing in select theaters in the US.

Tragedies:

Our poor Leeteuk of Super Junior has recently lost a lot this week. His father and grandparents have died in a car accident and I don’t know how to express my condolences anymore than saying that I hope he grows stronger from this and not let it bring him down.

Good News:

Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu has released a selca of herself with a growing baby bump.

Funny:

Dancing robots do the Gangnam Style better than Psy himself?????

And so much more happened.

Few Big News for My New Year

One week of the New Year has passed and brought along many surprises with it……

For starters the snow that came and cancelled my first day of winter classes and discovering the first couple of the New Year. Most of you guys may already know what I’m talking about but for those of you who don’t, I am referring to the discovery of Lee Seung Gi oppa and Yoona unni of SNSD dating. It is said that the have been dating since last year but were keeping it under secrecy. Well whatever the reason I am glad that Seung Gi oppa has finally gotten the girl he has been crushing on and that SM Entertainment is even allowing them to date.

Anywho, the beginning of the New Year was boring and the week wasn’t exactly full of any personal excitement for me but I will try to keep myself updated on what’s going on in the world.

Stayed tuned...........

N.O.M verses N.O.M

Okay now I am very confused as to what is going on here. There are these two groups that debuted this year and I have only been paying slight attention to one group because of their adorable mv for Pretty Noona. I unfortunately just recently saw this extremely gay (no I have nothing against gays) mv for this other group also called by the same name.....sort of. (Major confusion people!!!!!!!)

I mean how do they expect me to tell it's a different group just buy the spelling and it's not like one group has the period between each letter and the other groups name sounds like Oscar the Grouch from Seasame Street when he eats. (By the way, JM's NOM is occassionally spelled without the periods but there is still no definite difference). I also want to acknowledge that all the letters are there but something is missing. It is very clear to me that N.O.M of JM Entertainment are going for the cute pretty boy band image most idols have enveloped but what about this other group......N.O.M.

I officially understand that N.O.M stands for Nature of Man for this other group under Danal Entertainment and I completely believe that they are all gay but it flies over my head when I look for JM's N.O.M and find this other N.O.M instead. I mean what are you people trying to do to me? Have you replaced my five adorable boys with four really hot gay men that I secretly wish were straight because I want them all so badly........>_>

Anywho,........now I am wondering in all seriousness what JM's N.O.M stands for so I can clarify what N.O.M I am referring to instead of people giving me weird looks as if I can't listen the songs of gay people....... Even worse is that when I saw Nature of Man's (I feel I should start differentiating the two starting now) mv for "GUYS", I totally thought wait isn't he in another group.....and sorry I do not know the name of the man in Nature of Man but he had a slightly similar look to K of N.O.M......just saying. It was the same hair style and then a similar shade of red hair that matched Ah-In the leader of N.O.M that threw me off my game.

And to be completely honest I thought they were the same group until I compared mv's and saw that there is a slight difference in the faces and a major difference with the number of members. Can someone please help me figure this out?!?!?!?!

If you are wondering what I am asking even though I kind of answered most of my questions in this post, well all I want is for someone to back me up or clarify some mistakes I may have made.

Revelations

So today I had multiple revelations pertaining to the multiple dramas I am currently watching and a mental break down concerning a drama I am waiting to air.

So it is the middle of the afternoon and my little brother comes home and I tell him about how I am ready to watch the third season of one of my favorite Korean dramas. What is this drama you ask, well it is none other than, Vampire Prosecutor. Yes I sincerely love this drama and I am waiting for them to come out with the third season, sometimes patiently, but today I had to let out the stress of not getting any news about the drama. I mean who is the actual bad guy that L was afraid of? I mean not only is L hot but he is also one of the coolest bad guys I have ever seen. He also has a really sweet side to him if you pay attention to what was going on in the drama about his past. Also, Is what's his face really still alive? Will bar hyung be able to survive through his fear? What happened to his little sister, where did she go? Will she ever get to admit to him that she likes him? Can he already tell that she likes her or is he genuinely dense to the situation?......

If you have no idea what I am referring to when I ask these questions, then you need to watch this drama so you can be up to date with my frustrations. Anywho, I had a momentary malfunction due to this drama and the lack of news I have on it.

Another drama I had a melt down over is Suspicious Housekeeper, yes I love this melodrama. I mean come on that adorable older brother from Answer Me 1997 is in it and he is playing this psychopathic jerk that is in love with the female lead. (I really do love him no matter what he plays. He looks to sweet and innocent which is why having him as the bad guy is so fun). My issue with this drama is that I was putting the intense relationships, that I am currently addicted to, in Heirs before my Suspicious Housekeeper. After I was up to date on Heirs  and watched the latest episode I suddenly realized that the episodes for Suspicious Housekeeper I was waiting for was also out and what happened in the last episode I saw. When I realized that my legs gave out on me and I asked myself 'Why, why, why, why is it like this? Why did I want to watch Heirs so badly? I really want to know what is going on with them?

So yeah, I went a little over board with my addiction to this melodrama but it is definitely worth watching since the characters are really interesting and I believe the cast was well picked as well. So before you ask, I did immediately start to watch the drama and the latest episodes that were out and my heart couldn't stop racing.

Now on the topic of Heirs, I  simply have to say that I hate Lee Min Ho's character. I hate him with a passion.....okay hate is a bit of a strong word so let's say that I strongly dislike him, but I also really really like him. It must be the fact that Lee Min Ho is playing him more than anything else. But in this drama, I am completely and wholeheartedly biased towards Kim Woo Bin's character. Why you ask well......I am biased towards Kim Woo Bin as a whole and love the fact that when I see this drama I think 'wow Woo Bin oppa looks so cool here'. But aside from that I really do love this drama and how it is progressing. My heart literally always stops whenever I see Young Do ah and Kim Tan in the same room or just in the same shot together.

Let me also add while I'm on the topic of Heirs is that every time Min Ho oppa's character came onto the I screamed 'Why are you here', especially if Woo Bin oppa's character was also there......

But that is my day of freaking out over Kdramas. And let me tell you this, although my freaking out started in the afternoon, it continued for the rest of the day......

Riddle of the Day

Today is Monday October 21st and I have a riddle for you guys. Todays riddle is about one of the most handsomest Japanese actors I have ever seen......maybe not the most handsomest but he can give a couple of them a run for their money.

Anywho,........

-He is 28 years old
-He has been in quite a few dramas and movies but is most famous for the Japanese version of what Lee Min Ho and Kim Hyun Joong oppas were in.
-He is about 5'11"
-He has an older brother that is quite handsome himself and if they were the same age would give his brother a run for his money as well.
-His whole family is actually full of actors; his dad, his mom, his brother, and his aunt.
-I don't remember if I mentioned his name on the birthday list I made up last month for my birthday. You know the list that states what celebrities, not American, I share a birthday with but he and I share a birthday. Therefore he is my unofficial aniki as far as I'm concerned.
-He has been acting since 2003 (if that's correct).
-He is also currently in this new drama that is absolutely to die for. He embodies this new role so perfectly that I am jealous of how flexible he is.

Anywho, if it isn't obvious who it is wait until Friday for me to tell you who this adorable aniki of mines is.

Drama Comparison

So, I know this is extremely late but I just finished watching a Taiwanese drama that I started watching some time last year but got so distracted by school work and other must see dramas, that I didn't finish watching the Taiwanese drama. I know that is a really bad excuse but it is unfortunately the truth and well, I have to admit that I really loved the drama.
What did I love about it?, you ask. Well the characters for starters, and secondly......well it just reminded me of one of my favorite Korean dramas.

The titles?, you ask. Well Love Now and Scent of a Woman

Now if you are thinking of asking wish drama is Taiwanese and which is Korean then I am thoroughly ashamed and disappointed in your lack of knowledge for Asian dramas......But I'll answer the question any way. Love Now is the Taiwanese drama and Scent of a Woman is the Korean drama.

Now for the good question.......Why do I like them sooooooo much? and What makes them so similar?
Well they both have them same aspect with the cancer patient, although one of them goes through more hoops and trials than the other concerning the matter of cancer. Another thing they share is the rich male lead that falls for them. Now typically speaking, these guys aren't your typical run of the mill jerk but one appears to be more of a jerk than the other because he is so passionate, the other.....well he's just a bit lazy and uninterested in the world until he meets the love of his life.

In Love Now the lead males have this air of self righteousness. Lan Shi De is extremely extreme. lol. I know saying that Lan Shi De is extreme isn't nearly enough to grasp what I mean. So here it is, he has strict views on right and wrong. He punishes those that cross him with an iron fist and hopes that they learn the lesson through is tough and unnerving demeanor. In short, Lan Shi De is a very scary man and you don't want to mess with him. The other leading male is Sun Qi Ming, who has some unresolved issues with his mother being a doctor and can't seem to let himself fall in love with this young woman who just so happens to be a doctor. Sun Qi Ming happens to be Yang Yi Ru's (the female lead) ex and boss and the current equivalent of a brother to her. She sees Qi Ming as a playboy and that image of him isn't going to change even if she starts to believe his feelings for her is true. These 2 men stop at nothing to prove their love for her even though they get into quite a bit of trouble in the process. Worst of all, Lan Shi De and Sun Qi Ming become the best of friends in their love rivalry even if they can't tell that that's what is happening to them.

The two lead males in Scent of a Woman are complete polar opposites, within themselves and related to the leading males in Love Now. Kang Ji Wook oppa is kind of lazy and halfheartedly does everything. (Notice how I call him oppa because I think I have a thing for hot lazy guys, my first being Shikamaru from Naruto). He has been living his life the way his father decided it would go until he met Lee Yeon Jae and is thus causing a mess of the plans his father made for him. I don't know how to best emphasize his coolness. It sort of just roles off of him and you can sense that a really cool person is in your midst or that you are in the midst of a really cool person. Well, the second male lead reminds me more of Lan Shi De because of their equally brash and harsh attitudes in life. I personally feel that the second male lead being a jerk goes against all the current norms of Korean dramas where the first male lead is a total jerk but the second male lead is a sweet heart.......Sorry for the tangent. Chae Eun Sook is played by one of my favorite Korean actors so I was totally biased towards him even though he was the jerk of the show and I totally loved this brash side of him. Eun Sook harsh way with his patients made him an undesired doctor and they eventually transferred to another doctor because he became intolerable after an incident. But due to his love for Yeon Jae, he has become quite bipolar with his emotions since she told him that she is in love with Ji Wook before he got to confess his feelings for her.

On a side note, I don't understand how these women are genuinely oblivious to the feelings of the second lead males for them. I mean in Korean dramas the female lead either is genuinely oblivious to what the second male feels or had feelings for the second lead male but weren't as strong as the feelings for the first lead male or considers them as a friend so they are banished to the friend-zone and let out arbitrarily as a tease to let them think that they had a chance.

Anywho, back to the dramas. My main point with these dramas, although I didn't really explain a lot, is that they are very similar. I will admit that Love Now holds certain aspects from previous Korean dramas that I have watched, like I Need Romance 2012 but the most important thing is that these two dramas hold a stronger correlation or connection in my mind. If you haven't already watched either drama or have watched one and not the other, I suggest you go watch it for yourself and let me know how you feel about it.

Answer to Previous Riddle

So this is way beyond over due. It has literally been a month (or there so) since I last posted a riddle or the answer to one.
So the long awaited answer to my las riddle is Ariel Lin.

She starred in 2 of my current favorite Taiwanese dramas, It Started with a Kiss and  In Time With You, and speaking of  In Time With You, that is one of the best dramas ever written that I have watched. Of course there are some over the top situations that should happen in dramas but they fit in so perfectly and her acting is impeccable to start with.

Anywho, Ariel is one of the most beautiful actresses I know of and I love watching all of her dramas (well the ones I have already watched anyway).

Second Dramafever Event

October 10, 2013...........I attended the second ever Dramafever event and I enjoyed it.

From 7pm til about 9:30 pm I played along in the trivia and watched the first episode of Heirs and part of the second episode. Of course there was food and I again made a lot of new friends. I didn't exactly hang out with the friends I made the first time but I reunited with one of them.

The event was filled with more trivia that made cry when I wasn't picked on to answer the questions. Even worse the prizes were totally cool, such as a Dramafever shirt, a bag, and this little device to plug into the t.v so you can watch all of your dramas straight on your own t.v.

Even though I didn't win anything this time I got the privilege to see episode 2 (well part of it before anyone else in America) !!!!! ^-^ heehee.

I will post about the first and second episodes in my Korean entertainment blog entitled Korea Live..........you guys just need to click on the link and find Heirs episode one and two.

First Ever Dramafever Fan Meeting

So on Wednesday September 18, Dramafever had their first ever fan meeting in NYC. Of course being a New Yorker and an avid lover of Korean dramas, I absolutely had to attend this event.

So, of course, being the special person that I am, I attended this event all by myself and made tons of new friends at the same time. I made three new friends, which I am going to hang out with on a regular basis and I even got some cool stuff from this event.

Okay so I got this milk carton:

These are all four sides of the carton.

The dramafever logo and website.

This side shows the love they have for their members.
This side shows the ingredients.

This is is the most important side because it holds the face of the beautiful Lee Min Ho.

And what was in side this milk carton of awesomeness:
Well there is this,
I got my very art Kirin High sleeve badge!!! ^_^

And this,
Dramafever had their very own custom made M&M's made for the event but as you may have guessed, they are all gone by now.
Also, the Dramafever team let everyone there on a little secret about their screening of the new series Heirs before they posted it to their blog. Of course I have already r.s.v.p'd myself to the event and I hope to see many new faces. ^_^

Riddle of the Day

So today's post is all about some one that has made an impact on me in the acting world.
She is not a Korean singer or actress but she does a little of both (but more of other).

She is a Taiwanese actress and has a beautiful singing voice. I have seen almost all of her dramas and movies and I listen to all of her songs.

She starred in this amazing drama that was originally a manga, has been twice made into a Japanese live-action drama, a Korean drama, and of course, I Taiwanese drama. (Whether there is a Chinese version of it out, I don't know about it yet).

She loves to eat and has been quoted saying that she is not a picky eater.
Her favorite colors are black, white, and silver.
Her favorite animals are a dog, guinea pig, rabbit, baby seal, and a pot belly pig.
Her two favorite people are Maggie Cheung and Tony Leung.
Her favorite cartoon is Doreamon and she even loved to read his comics.

Stayed tuned for more info on who this mystery person is. ^_^

Answer to Yesterday's Riddle

Okay so you guys having bee waiting paitently for me to reveal who the mystery man behind the clues from yesterday is and *drum roll please* it's known other than the absolute adorable Minhyuk of BtoB.

I mean if my obvious clues from yesterday didn't scream out at you..........................

So this little cutie is 2 yrs older than I am and born 2 months after me (heehee).

He is apart of the Korean group BtoB which for the longest while I had thought meant 'Back to Basics' and not 'Born to Beat'. But both of those names sound really convincing don't you agree?!?!?!?!

Anywho, he is obviously a singer, rapper, actor, and your all around Korean idol.
Before debuting he was in 'Living in Cheongdamdong' with a few of his fellow members.
He was also formerly known as 'Heota' and featured in 'Still' by Zico and Park Kyung.

Anything special about this member is that:

1. he has an older brother
2. his favorite colors are black and white
3. his favorite number is 8
4. he is currently studying at Dangook University
5. he's pretty much the face of the group

..................then I don't know what will.

Here is a pic of the artist of the day.......:

Isn't he just too cute for words. And I wish I could have posted more info on him for you guys but once I start posting bios in my blog Korean Entertainment then you will get the full DL on this cutie.
