Riddle of the Day

Today is Monday October 21st and I have a riddle for you guys. Todays riddle is about one of the most handsomest Japanese actors I have ever seen......maybe not the most handsomest but he can give a couple of them a run for their money.

Anywho,........

-He is 28 years old
-He has been in quite a few dramas and movies but is most famous for the Japanese version of what Lee Min Ho and Kim Hyun Joong oppas were in.
-He is about 5'11"
-He has an older brother that is quite handsome himself and if they were the same age would give his brother a run for his money as well.
-His whole family is actually full of actors; his dad, his mom, his brother, and his aunt.
-I don't remember if I mentioned his name on the birthday list I made up last month for my birthday. You know the list that states what celebrities, not American, I share a birthday with but he and I share a birthday. Therefore he is my unofficial aniki as far as I'm concerned.
-He has been acting since 2003 (if that's correct).
-He is also currently in this new drama that is absolutely to die for. He embodies this new role so perfectly that I am jealous of how flexible he is.

Anywho, if it isn't obvious who it is wait until Friday for me to tell you who this adorable aniki of mines is.

Drama Comparison

So, I know this is extremely late but I just finished watching a Taiwanese drama that I started watching some time last year but got so distracted by school work and other must see dramas, that I didn't finish watching the Taiwanese drama. I know that is a really bad excuse but it is unfortunately the truth and well, I have to admit that I really loved the drama.
What did I love about it?, you ask. Well the characters for starters, and secondly......well it just reminded me of one of my favorite Korean dramas.

The titles?, you ask. Well Love Now and Scent of a Woman

Now if you are thinking of asking wish drama is Taiwanese and which is Korean then I am thoroughly ashamed and disappointed in your lack of knowledge for Asian dramas......But I'll answer the question any way. Love Now is the Taiwanese drama and Scent of a Woman is the Korean drama.

Now for the good question.......Why do I like them sooooooo much? and What makes them so similar?
Well they both have them same aspect with the cancer patient, although one of them goes through more hoops and trials than the other concerning the matter of cancer. Another thing they share is the rich male lead that falls for them. Now typically speaking, these guys aren't your typical run of the mill jerk but one appears to be more of a jerk than the other because he is so passionate, the other.....well he's just a bit lazy and uninterested in the world until he meets the love of his life.

In Love Now the lead males have this air of self righteousness. Lan Shi De is extremely extreme. lol. I know saying that Lan Shi De is extreme isn't nearly enough to grasp what I mean. So here it is, he has strict views on right and wrong. He punishes those that cross him with an iron fist and hopes that they learn the lesson through is tough and unnerving demeanor. In short, Lan Shi De is a very scary man and you don't want to mess with him. The other leading male is Sun Qi Ming, who has some unresolved issues with his mother being a doctor and can't seem to let himself fall in love with this young woman who just so happens to be a doctor. Sun Qi Ming happens to be Yang Yi Ru's (the female lead) ex and boss and the current equivalent of a brother to her. She sees Qi Ming as a playboy and that image of him isn't going to change even if she starts to believe his feelings for her is true. These 2 men stop at nothing to prove their love for her even though they get into quite a bit of trouble in the process. Worst of all, Lan Shi De and Sun Qi Ming become the best of friends in their love rivalry even if they can't tell that that's what is happening to them.

The two lead males in Scent of a Woman are complete polar opposites, within themselves and related to the leading males in Love Now. Kang Ji Wook oppa is kind of lazy and halfheartedly does everything. (Notice how I call him oppa because I think I have a thing for hot lazy guys, my first being Shikamaru from Naruto). He has been living his life the way his father decided it would go until he met Lee Yeon Jae and is thus causing a mess of the plans his father made for him. I don't know how to best emphasize his coolness. It sort of just roles off of him and you can sense that a really cool person is in your midst or that you are in the midst of a really cool person. Well, the second male lead reminds me more of Lan Shi De because of their equally brash and harsh attitudes in life. I personally feel that the second male lead being a jerk goes against all the current norms of Korean dramas where the first male lead is a total jerk but the second male lead is a sweet heart.......Sorry for the tangent. Chae Eun Sook is played by one of my favorite Korean actors so I was totally biased towards him even though he was the jerk of the show and I totally loved this brash side of him. Eun Sook harsh way with his patients made him an undesired doctor and they eventually transferred to another doctor because he became intolerable after an incident. But due to his love for Yeon Jae, he has become quite bipolar with his emotions since she told him that she is in love with Ji Wook before he got to confess his feelings for her.

On a side note, I don't understand how these women are genuinely oblivious to the feelings of the second lead males for them. I mean in Korean dramas the female lead either is genuinely oblivious to what the second male feels or had feelings for the second lead male but weren't as strong as the feelings for the first lead male or considers them as a friend so they are banished to the friend-zone and let out arbitrarily as a tease to let them think that they had a chance.

Anywho, back to the dramas. My main point with these dramas, although I didn't really explain a lot, is that they are very similar. I will admit that Love Now holds certain aspects from previous Korean dramas that I have watched, like I Need Romance 2012 but the most important thing is that these two dramas hold a stronger correlation or connection in my mind. If you haven't already watched either drama or have watched one and not the other, I suggest you go watch it for yourself and let me know how you feel about it.

Answer to Previous Riddle

So this is way beyond over due. It has literally been a month (or there so) since I last posted a riddle or the answer to one.
So the long awaited answer to my las riddle is Ariel Lin.

She starred in 2 of my current favorite Taiwanese dramas, It Started with a Kiss and  In Time With You, and speaking of  In Time With You, that is one of the best dramas ever written that I have watched. Of course there are some over the top situations that should happen in dramas but they fit in so perfectly and her acting is impeccable to start with.

Anywho, Ariel is one of the most beautiful actresses I know of and I love watching all of her dramas (well the ones I have already watched anyway).

Second Dramafever Event

October 10, 2013...........I attended the second ever Dramafever event and I enjoyed it.

From 7pm til about 9:30 pm I played along in the trivia and watched the first episode of Heirs and part of the second episode. Of course there was food and I again made a lot of new friends. I didn't exactly hang out with the friends I made the first time but I reunited with one of them.

The event was filled with more trivia that made cry when I wasn't picked on to answer the questions. Even worse the prizes were totally cool, such as a Dramafever shirt, a bag, and this little device to plug into the t.v so you can watch all of your dramas straight on your own t.v.

Even though I didn't win anything this time I got the privilege to see episode 2 (well part of it before anyone else in America) !!!!! ^-^ heehee.

I will post about the first and second episodes in my Korean entertainment blog entitled Korea Live..........you guys just need to click on the link and find Heirs episode one and two.
